BSU, BNTU, BSUIR, BSTU and others: Belarusian universities entered the top of the best in Europe

Eight Belarusian universities were included in the rating of the best higher educational institutions in Europe and Central Asia in 2022, according to the QS Quacquarelli Symonds agency.

In total, the rating, which was compiled by the authoritative global analytical agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds, includes more than 450 universities: 134 of them are Russian.

All universities were assessed in terms of academic reputation and reputation among employers. 

The highest place in the ranking among Belarusian universities is held by BSU (22nd). It is followed by BNTU – 82nd position, BSUIR – 129th line.

The other five universities are located in the following positions:

  • Belarusian-Russian University – 186
  • Yanka Kupala University of Grodno – 199
  • Belarusian State Technological University – 201
  • Vitebsk State University named after Petr Masherov – 300+
  • Francisk Skaryna Gomel University – 300+

The leader in the ranking for the 8th year in a row was the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The second place was taken by Charles University (Czech Republic), the third – by the St. Petersburg State University. In total, the ranking included 450 best universities in the region, including 134 institutions from Russia alone.

As for the best universities in the world, their positions are traditionally updated in February. This year, the best of Belarusian universities – BSU – is located on the 708th position.
